VIÑA del Mar

Vina Del Mar is located on the coast Chile, about 128km from Santiago. I do not care for some tours; the van air conditioner was not working in the back. Things go wrong sometime. I keep focus on the adventure of the tour and who knows what might happen. We park near the docks and it is always nice to be at the water. The tour was a three hour walk through the city. Although, I am alone on these trips believe me, I am never lonely. Every one wants to know how life is in America. On this tour there was a couple from Colorado, Colombia, and Scotland. Date November 30, 2019.

We took this cable car up to the top of the mountain. It is small only 6 people could get it. Those gears is what operate the cable car.

The views were awesome, the houses where interesting too. Remember, this is a walking tour. So, please wear your comfortable shoes.

This next area has so many beautiful murals on just about every building. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

These are the other pictures on the walking tour.

This is the end of the city tour for Vina Del Mar. Next week we will go to the winery, the beach, and check out a beautiful clock.

Santiago Chile

My 60th birthday present to myself was not to work one day in December 2019. Chile was my first stop on my South American travels. If you are wondering why, I found a ticket for 30,000 airline miles. Which is very inexpensive compared to 109,000 from most airlines. I left on the 28 November 2019. It was summer in Chile too. My friend Ivonne, help me find a safe place from all the protests going on in Chile. She made sure I found a hostel away from the nightly riots in the city. The riots could erupt at any time and place. The police were out in force. Some streets were closed off.

This is Pat(left) and Ivonne(right). I met Ivonne in Japan in 2017.

Ivonne took me on a tour of the city. We walked for hours, however, many places were closed because of the riots. The hostel was close to food, shopping and whatever you wanted to do. The city was surrounded by mountains. It is a beautiful city with lots to do. Enjoy my walk around Santiago, Chile.

Look Out World Here I Am

A friend keeps encouraging me to tell the world about my travels. So, this post is dedicated to Sharon.

This is the end of May, by now my bag is pack, my ticket and passport is ready to hit the road. Unfortunate, this pandemic is messing up my plans.

I will share my birthday trip with you I took in December 2019. I explored South America. Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. Hopefully, this will help us with our wanderlust until we can travel again.
